General Care

Handling and moving your Furniture

Take care when moving or handling your furniture. Please be aware that armrests and wings are not handles, and may result in damage to the furniture, or injury to yourself.

Cushioning: Seat, Back and Arm foam

Slight softening, flattening and loss of resiliency will occur in all foam, polyester fibre and other filling materials as a normal result of use and aging. To prevent uneven wear and to redistribute material, cushions should be turned, flipped and fluffed regularly.

Sewing, Seams and Zippers

Sewing and Seams: Please refrain from using sharp object on or near furniture as these may cause stitching to come undone. Never pull arms or wings from the furniture to prevent the seams from splitting. Sewing, seams and zippers are designed to hold a maximum of 110 kg, overloading and excessive weight bearing may stress these areas and cause damage.

Important Things to Avoid

  • If you are removing any protective wrapping do not use any sharp tools which could damage the leather or other upholstered covering
  • If you move your lounge do not lift or drag it by the cushions which are sewn into the frame. The correct way to move it is by lifting the sofa, at each end, from the base
  • Please do not sit on the armrests and backrests. They are not designed for seating and could potentially damage the frame
  • Do not expose any part of the lounge to direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to direct or intense sunlight may cause leather to fade as well as excessive    drying and cracking.
  • Ensure that every edge or part of the lounge is placed at least 50 cm away from any heat source, including electric and gas heaters.
  • Never use solvents, abrasives, shoe or saddlery care products. Only ever use industry recommended care products suitable for the type of covering.
